Conditional Discharge; No Criminal Record

Case Details

Peter and his friend went out to various parties one Saturday night. They were quite intoxicated. They called for a cab and were headed to another party. While driving down the Highway 417, the young men and the taxi driver got into a heated verbal argument.

The cab driver alleged that he was beaten up by the two young men.

The client came to see Mr. Anber and initially claimed he did not touch the driver. This quickly became a hard position to take as the camera in the cab caught everything. The accused also had a prior conditional discharge; it was looking like he would get a criminal record this time around.

In the end, after further negotiation, the Crown agreed to a conditional discharge.
