Police Chase leading to charges of Dangerous Driving, Flight from Police, Several HTA Offences

No Jail

Case Details

This person took police on a chase over some 4.7 kilometres.

He drove his motor vehicle through populated areas of both Ontario and LaVelle, Quebec, at high rates of speed; sometimes reaching at least 160 kilometres an hour and, in effect, lost control of his vehicle damaging the front wheel of the vehicle to the degree that the tire eventually shredded on that wheel. He continued on for some 700 metres on the rim of that wheel before abandoning the vehicle, fleeing to a neighbourhood tavern where the Quebec Police apprehended him.

Normally this would be a jail sentence however David Anber persuaded the judge to give the accused house arrest.
